What is Assistive Technology?

In simple words, Assistive technology (AT) is any technology that assists you in some way, that helps you do something that couldn't do otherwise. If you have a disability you may need assistance in any number of things. 

Assistive technology (AT) can help in many areas, the main areas are:
ACE i.e.
A - Access
- Communication
- Entertainment

Assistive technology might include products and services to help people who have difficulty speaking, typing, writing, remembering, pointing, seeing, hearing, learning, walking, etc.

In other words, assistive technology is any item, piece of equipment, technology, software or product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities.
