First and Only Indian TV Channel Focused On Higher Education And Skill Development - Launched by Millionlights

DELHI, August 10th, 2016: Millionlights, an education content provider using technology to achieve massive scale, launched ‘The first and only Indian TV Channel focused on higher education and Skill Development’ in partnership with DEN Manoranjan Satellite in Pune.

With this partnership, Millionlights aims to create a landscape of content, delivery platforms and certifications leading to higher employability. Partners include universities, teachers, technology companies, certification companies and of-course their students. The launch of TV is a step ahead towards open access of content.

With the collaboration between the two, Millionlights TV channel is carried by DEN Manoranjan cable for it’s users. Around 200,000 active cable households in the DEN Manoranjan will be covered in this phase. The Millionlights TV channel aims to focus on the Skill Upgrading space. They have powerful platforms such as Microsoft Virtual Academy content that is localized, courses that help in skill development, education career guidance and education related news. The company is currently generating upwards of 100 hours of new content every month.

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Pradeep Varma, Chairman, Millionlights said “We hope to reach out to the farthest corner of India and deliver skill training to everyone. The launch of the Millionlights TV channel brings a positive disruption to the current education and skill landscape by adding massive scale to reach across to millions of Indians. Millionlights, across all three screens will provide open access to education and real-world skills to at least 50 million learners in the next 5 years. They plan to leverage their platform and technology to ensure that no aspiring learner is left bereft of access to skills and education either due to lack of infrastructure or good faculty, irrespective of where they may be.

A key feature of the Millionlights movement is access to the best authored, curated content leading to industry recognised certification.  The technology used by the company facilitates live lectures, offline viewing, TV programs and faculty and industry interactions and we are confident that we will deliver better learning outcomes through our platforms. The Millionlights platforms enable peer interaction, faculty teaching and handholding and discussion forums all based on localized content.
