The Hour of Code™ campaign is back this year and is looking for students, teachers, professionals who would like to contribute to the movement by introducing one ‘hour of code’ to students across the country.
The Hour of Code™ is a global non-profit campaign started by Code.org that aims to spread computer science education among students by inspiring them to learn to programme. The movement is also supported by tech-giants such as Apple, Google, and Microsoft. Education is shifting to prepare kids for the future, and computer programming literacy is just as essential to this generation as math, science, and languages. Programming encourages creative thinking, motivates problem-solving, and builds confidence and perseverance in the face of challenges. Not only does programming build competency, but it also provides useful crossover skills in other disciplines outside of computer science and programming.
Progate, a leading EdTech platform for students to learn programming is supporting this movement in India through its community of students and is calling all students, teachers, and professionals to join their volunteer base from anywhere in the country and help introduce programming to young school students. Progate is supporting this global movement to help students discover the fun of coding and, more importantly, how it can be a catalyst to create and achieve great things.
