DebugsBunny, an EdTech platform that teaches coding and programming to K12 students, has raised INR 1.4 crore in an angel funding round, the company has announced recently.
The round was led by India Angel Fund with participation from some individual angel investors.
Founded in 2020, DebugsBunny empowers students to become problem solvers by offering Live online interactive coding classes from classes 1 – 12. Coding is a complex subject, but DebugsBunny believes in making it fun by teaching through interactive methods and games. Its courses are specially designed by alumni of IITs and IIMs and creators of SWAYAM Satellite.
DebugsBunny currently offers programming courses on mobile app development, game development, artificial intelligence, web development, python programming, etc. With the latest funding, the company plans to expand its reach and accelerate its growth in Tier 2/3/4 cities to provide quality education to students across the country.
Speaking about the company and its plans in future, Sumit Singare, Co-founder and CEO, DebugsBunny, said,
“Information asymmetry has been the core problem with quality education in India. Students lack the resources and knowledge of the available resources in neo-middle class families. We are trying to solve this problem by trying to reach out to every last student through our platform. Offering quality education at a very affordable cost has been our core philosophy. With the same focus and momentum, we plan to increase our student base to 1 lakh in the next six months with a major focus on Tier 2 cities.”
DebugsBunny saw a rapidly growing community of students, schools, and affiliate partners in the last few months. The Pune-based company said it has onboarded more than 10,000 students and 26 schools on its platform since its inception. It claimed that its courseware has received positive feedback from students and parents alike.
Commenting on the funding, Rahul Narvekar and Narendra Firodia, from India Angel Fund, said in a statement,
“DebugsBunny’s offering is well-timed with the rapidly increasing demand for online coding classes. And, I’m impressed how team is focused on Bharat and NOT just India and the way they are planning its market expansion where the major potential lies.”
Most of DebugsBunny’s students are from Tier 2 and 3 towns of India. With a special focus on this market, they are strengthening their foothold with their aggressive plans. The full equipped digital labs which they have set up in these places have helped them garner a good response, said a statement.
According to Nilesh Borole, Co-founder and CTO of DebugsBunny, the company is currently operating in 11 states and is planning to operate in 26 states in the next six months.
