Edukasyon.ph, a leading education technology platform in the Philippines has raised an undisclosed amount in a bridge funding round.
The round was led by existing investors KSR Ventures and Lorinet Foundation, along with new investor Bisk Ventures.
With the new financing, the company plans to continue doubling down on Edge Tutor, its online K-12 tutoring services in English and Math for students aged 4 to 16. The product--piloted in May-- is Edukasyon.ph's third offering after its college and career counselling service Finder and future skills training platform Advance.
Founded in 2015 by Henry Motte-Muñoz, Edukasyon.ph is an online platform that gives Filipino students access to resources for senior high school and university learning as well as scholarships, online courses, and internships, among others. The company's aim is to empower more than 20 million Filipino Gen Z youth to make self aware education decisions that lead to a fulfilling career and life.
Speaking about the fundraise, Founder and CEO of Edukasyon.ph, Henry Motte-Muñoz, said in a statement:
"We are very excited to enter the local academic support space--fast growing, fragmented, and still very traditional multi-billion industry. The Philippines is now where India was even seven or 10 years ago."
The startup partners include Rex Publishing, Amazon Web Services, Unilever, Asian Development Bank, UN Women, and Ateneo de Manila University.
According to Edukasyon.ph, since the close of its series A round in 2020, the company tripled its revenue and achieved profitability for its B2B division. Its platform has a community of 8 million students and its close to reaching 1 million registered users.
In April 2019, Edukasyon.ph had acquired FindUniversity, an online directory of colleges, universities and academic programs offered across the country, in April this year. Launched in 2010, FineUniversity enables access to over 20,000 academic programs offered in over 900 higher education institutes across the Philippines.
