OBM Education, an Egyptian education technology startup that provides career development navigation tools for high school and university students, has recently raised a six-figure investment from EdVentures in its second round of funding.
With this fresh capital, the company will enhance its expansion plans and launch its new application; “Taleb”.
Founded in 2013 by Omar El-Barbary and Ezz El-Din Farag, OBM Education (Organizational Behavior Management) helps pre-university students choose their college majors and provide them with career advising and training programs. The platform provides such services through its diversified summits and programs top of which is; the Build Your Future Summit (BYF) which is attended by thousands of high school students and graduates, in addition to the Education Stakeholders Forum (ESF), a regional summit that brings together key stakeholders from the government, universities, schools, service providers and investors with the aim of enhancing the education sector in the MENA region.
OBM’s aim is to destroy the gap between the high school students and the 21st century requirements. It works on building a new generation that keeps pace with times through connecting them with personal and professional development opportunities.
Commenting on the new fundraising, Founder & CEO of OBM Education, Omar El-Barbary, said:
“EdVentures’ new investment is quite strategic for our ambitious expansion plans as we will use it to launch our new application; “Taleb” that will enable us to provide extended services for our users and to fulfil our mission in ensuring an exceptional career advising experience for the Egyptian students.”
The startup boasts a portfolio of certification schemes including internationally renowned solutions for Project, Business, and Information & Technology (IT) Management, Cyber Security, and Public-private partnerships. It also offers special programs that connect students with top CEOs; mentoring them, providing them with real-life experience in business and helping them decide on their career paths. Their offerings also include training programs on key employability and communication skills
Founder & CEO of EdVentures, Dalia Ibrahim, added:
“We saw great potential in OBM as they cater to a huge population of students and undergrads, that’s why we were keen to have another round of investment in OBM to help them further expand and increase their offerings; thus helping more students and enabling them to make well-informed decisions about their future and to become job-ready.”
Earlier this year, OBM Education had raised an undisclosed amount in a seed round from Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and Edventures.
