The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) has partnered with SmarterChains, a SaaS platform designed for manufacturing companies to prepare and execute learning. According to an official statement, the partnership aligns with UNITAR’s mission to provide capacity-building and training to professionals.
As part of the initiative, the platform will offer courses related to Industry 4.0 to help individuals, manufacturing companies, service & technology providers and governments adapt to the new technological advances. Furthermore, it intends to equip beneficiaries with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and enable manufacturing companies to stay ahead of the curve and drive sustainable growth by leveraging the latest technological innovations.
Currently, the scope of UNITAR programming is genuinely worldwide, with an outreach encompassing the entire United Nations membership and over 300,000 individuals benefiting annually from delivering about 900 training and related events. The Institute’s programming has never been more diverse, with a wide range of learning and other types of events covering multilateralism, economic development and social inclusion, environmental sustainability and green development, sustainable peace, and research and technology applications.
UNITAR said in a press statement: The online learning platform will be launched on the 29th of September, and we will share more about it during our webinar on “Industry 4.0 Learning Framework for Sustainable Development” that will take place on the same day, the 29th of September at 2 pm CET. This webinar also educates the global manufacturing community and all public and private stakeholders about the importance of Industry 4.0 (IR4.0) for the next stage of sustainable development. Throughout this webinar, we will explore the following themes:
- Discuss the importance of IR4.0 for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
- Introduce a Global Learning Framework that encompasses all elements of IR4.0 and;
- Present the 1st Industry 4.0 Education Platform and the collaboration between UNITAR and Smarterchains to bring it to the manufacturing community, representing 14% of the Global GDP.
