WyoTransfer, a platform for planning transfers between colleges and universities in Wyoming, is partnering with Pennsylvania-based educational technology company AcademyOne to implement a suite of tools to help students on their academic journey, marking an important milestone in its strategic plan to improve student experience and success.
Following the successful launch of its ArticulatED™ transfer portal, WyoTransfer.org, the state is taking the next steps in their strategic strategy to enhance its students’ academic experience and achievement.
AcademyOne’s products are devised to bridge the divide between college and university, fostering a higher education community that promotes access, retention, and success. This partnership aligns with Wyoming’s ambitious goal to ensure that 60% of its adult population holds an industry-recognized postsecondary credential by 2025 and 75% by 2040.
Speaking about the development, Hank Bowman, Chief Growth Officer of AcademyOne, said:
We are thrilled to announce that Wyoming will be implementing our AssessED™ credit for prior learning portal and software, AwardED™ automated reverse transfer system, and AdvisED™ digital articulation agreement library and transfer pathway checklist software to decrease both the cost of attendance and the time it takes to graduate.
This collaboration is essential for several reasons. Firstly, it represents a significant step toward acknowledging and crediting prior learning, which can encourage more adults to return to school. Wyoming makes postsecondary education more accessible and attainable by recognizing experience learning and previous college courses. Secondly, by reducing the time and cost of graduation, Wyoming addresses two significant barriers to postsecondary education. This move could increase enrollment and graduation rates, contributing to the state’s ambitious credential attainment goals.
Lastly, this partnership signifies the increasing role of EdTech in shaping postsecondary education. Companies like AcademyOne are at the forefront of developing solutions that can streamline the academic journey for students, promoting equity in access and success.
Dr. Ben Moritz, Executive Director for the Wyoming Community College Commission, added:
Wyoming has established an ambitious goal to ensure that 60% of our adult population has an industry-recognized postsecondary credential by 2025 and 75% by 2040. AcademyOne’s solutions will enable us to take a more holistic approach to giving our students, whether traditional transfers with college courses under their belt or returning adults with experiential learning, the credit they have previously earned.
