Wiley, a publisher in research and education company, recently signed a four-year open access agreement with Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani). According to an official statement, the partnership will help BITS Pilani, an Indian higher education institution, by improving access to academic resources from 2024 to 2027. This is Wiley’s second open access deal in India and its first collaboration with BITS Pilani.
The collaboration enables BITS Pilani scholars and researchers to access and publish open-access articles throughout Wiley’s collection of over 2,000 journals, including hybrid and fully gold open-access publications. Wiley has strong momentum in advancing open-access partnerships, having signed more than 80 agreements around the globe, including with institutions across APAC.
Commenting on the partnership, Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Vice-Chancellor of BITS Pilani, said:
