Unacademy, India’s largest online learning platform, has rolled out its language learning app in India. The app initially offers Spanish to learners. Co-founder and CEO Gaurav Munjal said the app will soon add French, German, and Indian languages.
Munjal, in a post on social media platform X, shared, “Our new app has already gained traction with over 10,000 users and 100 paid customers, and has been downloaded over 5,000 times on Google Play Store. Unlike other apps that focus on gamification, our app is designed to truly teach you a language. It’s not about points or badges; it’s about learning. The app promises to help learners master Spanish ‘swiftly and effectively ‘, setting it apart from the competition.”
“We’ve distilled the essence of learning Spanish from English into compact, crisp lessons designed for profound understanding. Our interactive templates make learning an adventure, with amazing content ensuring a seamless grasp of language concepts. Start your journey to fluency with us and unlock a world of Spanish confidently,” reads the app’s description. After the free access, users will be required to buy the pro subscription, which is priced at Rs 4,999 annually or Rs 790 monthly. Responding to a comment on the pro pricing, Munjal said, “Help me figure out the right pricing. Will change it right away.”
The app allows users to embark on their language learning journey, offering free templates that gamify the learning process. It guides users in choosing Spanish words to complete sentences and matches them with their English counterparts. It also provides exciting language facts to enhance comprehension. Once users have a basic understanding, they can practice communicating in Spanish in everyday situations, making the learning process interactive and fun.
