At the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony at Edutech Asia 2024, Samsung Electronics Singapore (Samsung) announced its collaboration with Challenger Technologies Limited (Challenger), Geniebook, and TeachingTutor.ai to improve digital classroom experiences with a wide range of AI-powered EdTech solutions that are scalable and protected by government-grade Knox security.
Furthermore, Samsung and its partners will collaborate to offer workshops and build a collection of multimedia resources to encourage AI adoption and expand AI literacy among educators and users in the education sector.
Samsung’s partnership with homegrown consumer electronics retailer Challenger will pave the way for both brands to offer solutions targeted at the education sector, including hardware and post-sales support. To elevate AI literacy in the education sector, both brands aim to engage up to 2,000 educators and users through workshops designed by Samsung. With extensive retail experience and a developing commercial arm, Challenger will collaborate closely with Samsung to reach out to customers by demonstrating how Galaxy devices and Samsung’s enterprise capabilities can be customized for specific educational use cases. The two organizations will lead the development of safe learning spaces by adopting and implementing user guardrails and leveraging Samsung Knox’s defence-grade security technologies.
Speaking about the development, Dennis Jang, President of Samsung Electronics Singapore, said:
The age of artificial intelligence has accelerated the demand for suitable technology to build relevant 21st-century skills, including AI and digital literacy. By partnering with like-minded organizations, we are well-placed to offer AI-ready solutions for the education sector with our devices and our partners’ comprehensive offerings. The MoUs signed are proof of our commitment, and we will work closely with partners within the industry to further deliver relevant digital skills, which will be made possible by Galaxy and Samsung Knox.
Geniebook entered a partnership with Samsung to deliver AI-powered e-learning experiences on Galaxy tablets, which Knox secured. Neo Zhizhong, CEO of Geniebook, added:
At Geniebook, we rely on technology to deliver personalized learning experiences for students. Education is personal, and to scale the customized approach, we turned to AI to help create a robust solution where both students and their parents can be on top of learning progress. Working with Samsung allows us to enhance our students’ learning experience further with Galaxy AI while also securing the experience through Samsung Knox, and we look forward to redefining the learning experience for our mobile-first students.
Samsung is entering a partnership with TeachingTutor.ai, a personalized AI learning platform built on deep learning models. The Australia-based EdTech startup aims to deliver a high-quality, personalized learning curriculum for learners of all ages and relies on AI to offer real-time insights on student performance. It also allows for custom learning journeys based on the learner’s usage.
Harry Katsiabanis, Chief Investment Officer of TeachingTutor.ai, also commented:
Many AI services today require active network connectivity, but this may be a challenge in educational institutions where cost and infrastructure may be a concern. Hence, our partnership with Samsung is a breakthrough for AI learning platforms, as the Galaxy device architecture will allow the TeachingTutor.ai platform to perform even when the device is not connected online. This will allow learners to enjoy learning without worries.
As Singapore and other markets rely more on technology to enhance teaching and learning, Samsung is also committed to providing education customers with the right learning solutions. This spans Samsung’s digital devices, Galaxy AI, and security offerings.
