The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.
Simply said, it is a network of internet-connected objects able to collect and exchange data using embedded sensors.
The objects could include devices other than standard products, such as computers and smartphones. Generally, the ‘things’ can be addressed uniquely, using a uniform resource identifier or an IP address. The objects can use sensors to transmit data to each other and even cause each other to perform physical activities. The technology already has impact in various industries such as healthcare and life sciences and now seems to penetrate into the sector of education as well, redefining the way we seek and perceive education
Below are some videos that will help you understand the concept and role it can play in education.
