Presenter Lee Graham, PhD at University of Alaska Southeast, will explore how Minecraft, a game-based learning platform, is entering classrooms and being used as a tool to personalize learning. New Grants for Next Gen STEM Digital Learning
Applications are now being accepted for NewSchools Ignite’s first grant program titled the Science Learning Challenge, which is open to entrepreneurs building digital learning experiences that support students’ development of science and engineering skills. This program plans to distribute up to $1.5 million in grants to up to 15 entrepreneurs developing digital tools for science learning. Applications are due by September 4, 2015.
Scholarship Opportunity for Superintendents Launching Personalized Learning
Also, the Lexington Education Leadership Award (LELA) Fellowship has extended their application deadline for the second cohort of Fellows to August 26th. The LELA fellowship is an exciting 6-month program designed to expose district superintendents to personalized learning and facilitate the first steps to implementation. Thirty finalists will be selected to attend the 2015 iNACOL Blended and Online Learning Symposium on November 8-11 in Orlando, Florida and participate in a specialized track.
