The MoodleMoot US event will feature a keynote by Moodle founder Martin Dougiamas, with substantial content focused on developing Moodle as an education and training tool.
Moodle, the world’s open source learning platform, has announced the line-up of keynote speakers and the opening of registration and call for presentations. Open source advocate Charlie Reisinger and Moodle founder Martin Dougiamas are among those who will take the stage at MoodleMoot US “You Make Moodle” conference from Tuesday August 4 to Thursday August 6, 2015 at the Twin Cities campus of the University of Minnesota.
MoodleMoot US is going to be a three-day event bringing together diverse and talented Moodlers from across North America to collaborate and build Moodle. The conference aims to be relevant to educators from K-12, higher education and corporate sectors, uniting the Moodle community to share their experiences.
Moodle events, known as MoodleMoots, feature presentations by esteemed speakers and Moodle community members addressing a wide range of topics that appeal to educators, software developers, instructional designers, IT managers and business executives. MoodleMoots bring all of these audiences together in one place to learn, share and network in a fun, energetic atmosphere.
For the first time, this event will be hosted by Moodle HQ, the main organization behind the Moodle project. Taking a new approach guided by community survey feedback, the conference is motivated for the community and the benefit of Moodle.
“A MoodleMoot is where the community comes together to share and grow technical and design skills, network with friends, exchange best practices and drive the Moodle project forward” says Martin Dougiamas. “MoodleMoot US is our first official Moodle event in the United States and we’re excited to welcome people from all over the country and internationally to help us all improve online learning while enjoying each other’s company and the culture of Minnesota.”
MoodleMoot US 2015 will have support from from exhibiting sponsors, including MySQL, Moodlerooms, WIRIS Maths, Blindside Networks, Course Merchant, Respondus, Flipgrid and eLearning Industry.
In conjunction with the opening of registration, there is also a call for presentations and applications for working groups on the site MoodleMoot US 2015.
Earlybird registration pricing will continue until June 30, student and group discounts are also available.
