Releases Student Feedback Chatbot

Friday last week, the free beta version of the worlds’ first feedback chatbot was released to the public.

Hubert is thought by many to be the next big development in student evaluations of teaching-surveys and aims to replace educational surveys permanently.

The idea is to achieve the optimal compromise between a personal interview and filling out a survey. That means receiving deeper insights with less work than creating a survey by having Hubert engage students in a dialog.

Hubert has built-in sentence analysis and can present ready-categorized results as well as the full conversation to the administrator. Any irrelevant statements like personal insults are filtered out automatically.

This beta version is the first step towards a better way to collect feedback. Future plans include more tailored conversations, clarifying follow-up questions and more comprehensive forms than the Start, Stop, Continue-type questions included in the beta.

The long term goal is to recommend tailored methods and approaches to help individual teachers become more effective based on data from teachers all around the world.
