Hyderabad-based Career Counselling Platform Univariety Raises $1.1 Million from Info Edge

One of India’s leading career counselling and college guidance platform Univariety has raised $1.1 million from premier online classifieds company Info Edge India Ltd.

This is the second round the Hyderabad-based startup has received funding from the Noida-based company within less than three years. The startup first raised funding from Info Edge in 2017, making the company as the sole investor in the startup’s roughly $1.9 million raise.

Launched in 2015, Univariety provides an online marketplace for career counselling, guidance, and college planning services to students and educational institutions. It aims to help students across India be better equipped to make career choices in the future. The startup believes that career planning matters more than anything else, and that a student that is self-assured and has ample guidance is better equipped to make choices that are aligned to his personality, interest and ability, ensuring lesser stress and a better future.

Owned and operated by International Educational Gateway Pvt. Ltd., Univariety claims to have served over 1,60,000 students and have partnered with more than 600 premier schools across India, Singapore, Indonesia and Dubai.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to further grow its business, focusing on product development, scaling up its alumni platform for schools, and deeper brand building. According to Jaideep Gupta, Founder and CEO, Univariety, the company remains focused on making career guidance and counselling mainstream for schools in India. He said that the new products will be unique and will support the students and parents in making decisions along the career journey.
