With this partnership, Teachmint solidifies its expansion into Asia, having also recently partnered with Dhaka-based EdTech startup Shikho and Ostad as well as Malaysian-based EdTech Pandai to power interactive classes for millions of students in the region, according to a press statement.

As a part of the deal, Teachstack will support Terampil in delivering read to launch classroom solutions to their students.

Founded in October 2021 by Amrullah Azmy, Terampil is an online learning platform focused on upskilling. The platform currently provides 130 courses that are taught by more than 100 educators. Its courses include subjects such as sales, marketing and branding, operations, and tech, and finance and accounting.

Announcing this partnership, Co-founder and CEO of Teachmint, Mihir Gupta, said:

“We are delighted to partner with and support Terampil with our technological offerings and be a part of their journey. Through Teachstack we are looking forward to building more such partnerships which would revolutionize digital education across the globe and help education providers and learners truly reap its benefits.”

Teachmint, co-founded by Mihir Gupta, Payoj Jain, Divyansh Bordia, and Anshuman Kumar in 2020, is a video-first teaching platform that provides a tutor management software platform. It offers features such as virtual classrooms with assignment and notes sharing, administration management, students information management, and progress tracking, etc.

Teachstack is Teachmint’s Video-as-a-Service (VaaS) offering for EdTech organizations across the globe to enable them with their proprietary, state-of-the-art plug and play live class solutions. The offering also reduces the go-to-market time for EdTech players by helping them integrate native classroom infrastructure with minimal code.

Speaking on the collaboration with Teachstack, Founder and CEO of Terampil, Amrullah Azmy, said:

“Teachstack is a one of a kind innovation that solves for live streaming within our apps in the simplest and fastest way possible, hence our choice was simple! We look forward to a fruitful partnership in taking quality learning experiences to the world.”

Teachmint’s latest partnership comes amid a rising need to address the decline in the quality of teaching staff and supplies due to lower salaries and budgets for schools in Indonesia. The company is available in more than 30 countries and has more than 10 million users.

The online teaching platform has made a few acquisitions in recent months. In December 2021, it had acquired the Indian arm of Singaporean EdTech Teachee. The Bengaluru-based firm had also acquired AirLearn, an online video learning platform, and Teachmore, a course-selling platform that allows teachers to sell content such as online courses and quizzes in the same month.

According to the company, it’s open to partnership with more EdTech firms in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Teachmint is also looking to double its headcount in the next 12 months from the current 500 employees.

Last year in October, Teachmint had raised $78 million as a part of its Series B round co-led by Rocketship.vc and Vulcan Capital. The funding round reportedly valued the EdTech firm at $500 million. To date, the startup has raised nearly $118 million.
