Aequs Private Limited, a leading player in diversified contract manufacturing, and the prestigious NSDC, the country’s preeminent body for skill development, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Medhavi Skills University (MSU), a trailblazing institution in the integration of the skilling ecosystem with higher education. An official release states that the Centre of Excellence for Aerospace Manufacturing Manpower Capacity Building has been launched at Aequs SEZ.
This CoE aims to equip youth with the latest, industry-relevant technical education. Designed under the new National Credit Framework and National Education Policy 2020, this programme offered under the Centre of Excellence aims to provide specialized education, making it more practical, relevant and accessible.
Commenting on the initiative, Founder & Chancellor of Medhavi Skills University, Pravesh Dudani, said:
While the trainees experience high-end practical on-the-job training at AEQUS’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, MSU leads the participants through a process of continuous improvement, and in-depth academic courses, ensuring that learners are grounded in both theory and practice.
Aequs consistently provides its global client base with supply chain efficiencies by utilizing its production ecosystems. The company employs over 4,000 people and runs production sites in France, India, and the US. It offers a fully equipped ecosystem for manufacturing complex aero parts for the most demanding aircraft supply chains. It also establishes India’s largest integrated manufacturing parks for consumer durables in Hubballi, Karnataka. With a unique plug-and-play guarantee, these industrial clusters provide manufacturers with the fastest plan-to-commercial cycle.
Rajiv Kaul, COO of Aequs Private Limited, stated:
We are happy to partner with Medhavi Skill University and NSDC to develop this unique Degree – Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) in Aerospace Manufacturing Technology. As always, knowledge moves from Top to Bottom, we keep studying, and then we go to work, but this is the first time something has gone reverse; from the Bottom, we are coming to the Top,” Rajiv Kaul, COO, Aequs Private Limited.
According to the officials, one of the aspects of the programme is the integration of On-the-Job higher education and Skills training, which has emerged as a potent solution to the dual challenges of youth employability and the industry’s quest for a skilled workforce.
NSDC has trained nearly three crore individuals in various areas since its founding through its partnerships with training partners around India. In addition to implementing the government’s premier skill development initiatives, such as the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), it has established 37 Sector Skill Councils (SSCs). Furthermore, businesses, organizations, and firms that offer skill training are funded by the NSDC. The organization provides concessional loans, other cutting-edge financial instruments, and strategic partnerships to facilitate the private sector’s capacity growth in skill development.
