‘It’s just so amazing!’ exclaimed Rahul of grade 6 as he toured through the official residence of the President of the United States, the White House.
The White House indeed looked spectacular through the VR box; a technology being used by The Ardee School, Gurugram and NFC to give real like experience to the students.
The secondary students of The Ardee School, Gurugram and NFC enjoyed a tour through the White House using the VR box technology. They also used Google Arts and Culture to have a 360 degree view of few areas inside this magnificent residence. Sprawling lawns, carpeted corridors and staircases, the crystal chandeliers, leather upholstery and every bit of the beautiful place just left the students spellbound.
The VR box technology is being used by teachers of science, math and humanities for creating unusual environmental stimulation to motivate students to explore creative ideas.
The idea of a virtual tour to the White House was part of ‘World Studies’, an assembly used as a platform where the students are encouraged to extensively research about life and times of certain chosen world leaders every month; the leader for this month being “Abraham Lincoln.’ The use of a VR (Virtual Reality) box which permits the audience to view a 360 degree environment made the tour to the White House a memorable event which the students immensely enjoyed.
