Aussie EdTech unicorn Go1 has acquired Coorpacademy, a corporate learning platform and content library, for an undisclosed amount to diversify content available to learners and expand its footprints in Europe.
The company said the acquisition will support its growth plans for Europe and its already vast offerings of digital learning and education resources.
Founded in 2013, Coorpacademy provides a proprietary Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform with the latest generation of instructional design to make corporate learning more fun, flexible, and collaborative. The platform has a multinational customer base and is used by almost one million users, some of which include Societe Generale, BNP Paribas, Schneider Electric, Nestle, and L’Oreal among others.
Andrew Barnes, Co-founder & CEO of Go1, said the merger would turbocharge the company’s plans.
“Go1’s core purpose is to help organisations and learners access great content from thousands of content providers. The combination with Coorpacademy brings an exciting set of new content partners into the mix and ultimately helps us reach more skills and areas of interest for our customers. Coorpacademy is already well established in France and Switzerland, and we are excited about this geographic expansion.”
Brisbane-based Go1 said the latest acquisition presents a big opportunity for the company and moves the needle closer to its goal of reaching one billion learners globally, highlighting the company’s commitment to continuing its momentum of steady growth. As it continues to scale globally as a leader in the corporate education space, the company said it plans to focus on expansion in the US and Europe.
Jean-Marc Tassetto, Co-founder & CEO of Coorpacademy, said,
“Go1’s unique approach to learning and development through curated playlists makes this company and leadership team an ideal partner for Coorpacademy. Not only is this a great opportunity for our two companies to come together to make corporate education accessible to millions of learners, but it adds value for existing customers that are prioritising and expanding their learning and development resources. We are looking forward to building the future of L&D with Go1.”
Following the acquisition, Coorpacademy’s co-founders Jean-Marc Tassetto, Arnauld Mitre, and Frederick Benichou will be joining the Go1 leadership team to continue to support company growth and oversee the day-to-day operations for Coorpacademy.
Founded in 2015, Go1 provides on-demand content to businesses looking to support their employees in upskilling. It offers businesses unlimited access to thousands of learning resources from providers around the world and helps them find the right resources for all their professional development, compliance, onboarding, and business training needs. The company reached the unicorn status with a valuation of over $1 billion following its US$200 million Series D raise in July 2021.
