Berlin, 4th March, 2015 – bettermarks today announced that it had been chosen by EdTech Europe , the leading European education technology focused conference platform, to provide insights into the trans- Atlantic market for SXSWedu attendees as part of an All Stars delegation of innovative European start-ups.
The European All Stars Morning Mixer powered by EdTech Europe will take place in Austin, Texas on March 10th.
Together with 10 other successful European start-ups, bettermarks’ participation will contribute to EdTech Europe and SXSWedu’s intention of bridging the gap between the US and Europe, encouraging the flow of talent and investment between markets. “We created a new adaptive and innovative tool that aims to improve math education worldwide for both students and teachers”, says Arndt Kwiatkowski, founder and CEO of bettermarks. “Therefore, bettermarks is easily adaptable to different countries and curricula and with outstanding promise for international scaling.“
Currently, bettermarks is looking for US-teachers to test and evaluate its new Common Core adaptive math books. The teachers and their classes get unlimited access to the platform for the remainder of the
2014/2015 school year and are asked to give feedback. Interested teachers should e-mail bettermarks for further information.
The Berlin-based start-up bettermarks offers over 100 interactive math books covering primary and secondary level (ages 10 – 16) and over 30 adaptive math books aligned to the Common Core standards. It is currently available in English (US and Indian curriculum), Spanish, German and Dutch. For students bettermarks provides personalized math learning online, guiding each student individually and adaptively. This frees up the teacher’s time, helping them to manage different ability levels in the classroom more easily.
Benjamin Vedrenne-Cloquet, Co-Founder of EdTech Europe and LAUNCHedu advisory board member, said: “We’re really pleased with the line-up of European innovators that will be presenting at SXSWedu and are looking forward to the valuable exchange of ideas that the European All Stars session will facilitate. bettermarks has impressed us with its contribution to the industry and is certainly one to watch, whether as a US, European or global education technology spectator.”
SXSWedu will take place from 9th – 12th March 2015 in Austin, Texas. EdTech Europe will be held at Kings Place in London, UK on 18 June 2015.
