BrightCHAMPS, a global live-learning EdTech startup for kids from 6 to 16 years to learn next-gen life skills such as coding, and financial literacy, has announced the launch of Next-Gen Hub, a phygital model for life-skills learning in Vietnam. According to an official statement, the life-skills learning centre aims to provide hybrid STEM-accredited classes based on a curriculum extensively reviewed by an independent Global Curriculum Advisory Board.
As a part of this initiative, experts from Roblox, Kyron Learning, GEMS Education, and Nous Group will teach at the facility. The courses will cover essential subjects such as coding, robotics, financial literacy, and communications, the statement further added.
Commenting on the programme, Founder & CEO of BrightCHAMPS, Ravi Bhushan, said:
Our research with over 500 Vietnamese parents and students showed a strong preference for a blended approach that combines the best of both worlds – the convenience of online tools and social learning through pair programming, group activities, masterclasses, and whiteboarding at offline Hubs.
BrightCHAMPS Next-Gen Hubs aim to support the Vietnamese government’s bid to upskill kids and help them become global citizens.
Head of BrightCHAMPS Next-Gen Hub project, Vietnam, Nhu Tranh De Tranh, added:
We offer blended coursework in entrepreneurship, finance, tech, coding, communications, robotics and AI, half of which will be through live 1-on-1 classes online, and the other half at the Hub, in small groups of kids with similar learning goals, speeds and needs, through our proprietary adaptive learning algorithm.
BrightCHAMPS was founded in 2020 by Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi graduate Ravi Bhushan and aims to empower students to be technologically, financially, and socially smart by nurturing the potential of every child. The platform’s methodology relies on play-based learning and includes customised learning journeys, quizzing, and parental dashboards. The company believes in nurturing the hidden potential which kids innately have. Its adeptly crafted programs complement the school curriculum to fuel the latent talents of the children and groom them towards future success in alignment with their natural abilities and inclinations. It is operational in over 30 countries, including India, Indonesia, the United States, the UAE, and Southeast Asia.
The startup recently awarded $1 million worth of stock options to 400 of its ‘high-performing’ teachers. The teachers across 25 markets would receive these stock options from key geographies such as India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, Egypt, Lebanon, and UAE.
Last year in August, BrightCHAMPS acquired Singapore-headquartered Schola, a live-learning platform for kids to master communication and English skills, in a $15 million cash & stock deal. In the same year, in February, the firm acquired Education10x, a financial literacy education platform for children. It had raised $63 million at a valuation of $650 million from Premji Invest, GSV Ventures, Flipkart’s co-founder Binny Bansal, Beenext, and 021 Capital, in November 2021.
