Sala, a Cambodian educational technology company, recently announced that it has raised $275,000 in its pre-seed investment from Choice Accelerator and BCC Group. With the fresh capital, the startup plans to expand its NFT project, launch its Student Ambassador Programs, and accommodate more functions on its established student platform. It also plans to offer solutions to solve student issues, including potential internship positions, loans, e-learning capabilities, and job searching and career opportunities.
Founded in 2018 by Sok Leap, Sala is Cambodia’s first university and school information portal, educational opportunities & promotions that empower high school students to make better college majors and career choices. It aims to aid schools in transforming and automating the educational system through innovative processes and features.
Through Sala, high school students can seek advice and guidance and do the test to find out what might be their best fit significant and professional career. Students can easily access the information, compare, and seek for best offers from each college provider. Moreover, students can receive valuable information and networking to make studying an enjoyable experience while connecting them to the right opportunities for their future careers.
Commenting on the funding, BCC Group, a Japanese information technology (IT) solution provider, said:
With the IT solution BCC Group provides, the digital certificate on the blockchain issued by Sala and BCC can be instantly confirmed as a digital proof of certification, so we think it can be a platform that various institutions need. By teaming up with Sala, the synergistic effect would increase.
The company created the platform with a simple vision: Enrich students’ journeys. Over 50,000 graduated high school students annually seek the best-fit major and college for their future professional path. Educational institutions can connect and engage with the student community, enabling them to manage their academic operations through its school management suite.
The latest development is Choice Accelerator’s first equity investment deal in Cambodia after its soft launch in October.
