CollPoll, a mobile-first campus automation & digital learning platform, has recently raised INR16 crore (about $2.2 million) from Prime Venture Partners.
The Bengaluru-based startup said it will use the fresh capital to enhance its product development and marketing and expedite hiring to increase its team size, which currently has over 40 employees.
Founded by Hemant Sahal in 2013, CollPoll is on a mission to empower educational institutions with a comprehensive solution that connects all its stakeholders and provides the means and motivation for effective and efficient learning. The startup offers a web and mobile-based campus automation, digital learning, and analytics platform to help higher education institutions address the rising complexity, competition, and digital compliance of their institutions.
CollPoll helps institutions reduce paperwork and human errors by digitizing their workflows and manage critical functions such as admissions, curriculum, examinations, fee collection, and others. It also helps teachers to plan lessons, manage attendance, grade assignments, and communicate with parents and students.
Commenting on the development, Hemant Sahal, Founder and CEO of CollPoll, said,
“Most universities still use paper-based and manual processes that slow down administrators, educators, and students alike. Institutions are late to technology adoption but the pull is intense right now across all types and sizes of institutions. This is a huge opportunity for CollPoll to impact the 39 million-plus students studying in Indian higher education institutions.”
CollPoll has built a comprehensive solution offering ERP for administration, a learning management system with video conferencing integration, AI-proctored examinations, a no-code business process automation engine for the contactless and paperless campus, and campus social network for digital engagement.
Amit Somani, Managing Partner, Prime Venture Partners, said,
“India is going through a digitization phase – every business, small or large, needs to digitize itself both to offer great customer experience to their users and to improve operations. Educational institutions and colleges are no different. The better ones have realized they are serving the Gen Z customers who have grown up on the mobile internet and want a seamless and easy experience. Administrators also want the ability to manage their back-office operations, the student population, and all administrative functions through modern software.”
He said that EdTech and SaaS have been two big areas of focus for Prime, and CollPoll is naturally a right fit investment for them.
CollPoll has partnered with over 40 educational institutions and is planning to add 300 more institutions by the end of 2022. Some of the leading institutions that use CollPoll solutions include O.P. Jindal Global University, Ashoka University, Manipal Dubai and Malaysia, Chitkara University, and Jagran Lakecity University, among others.
With the latest funding, CollPoll has raised a total capital of INR26 crore to date.
