ConveGenius, a leading educational technology company, has joined hands with NITI Aayog and UP Government to pioneer a visionary outcome-based EdTech model that aims to transform the education landscape in India, creating a brighter future for students and reimagining how public-private partnerships operate. This exciting collaboration puts learning outcomes front and centre, using a pay-for-success approach to drive real educational impact.
With the visionary leadership of NITI Aayog, this game-changing EdTech program has begun this academic year with a clear mission to enhance learning outcomes in four aspirational districts of Uttar Pradesh: Chandauli, Sonbhadra, Balrampur, and Fatehpur. This first-of-its-kind initiative, in collaboration with MSDF (Michael and Susan Dell Foundation) and GDi Partners, aims to elevate the learning levels of students in grades 3 to 8 across 280 schools, reaching 70 schools per district. Instead of spending money, the focus is now on spending better on education, ensuring every rupee counts for real learning gains.
The core of the ambitious program lies in ConveGenius’ Personalized and Adaptive Learning (PAL) solution, CG PAL. The solution employs artificial intelligence to identify learning gaps in students and tailor their learning journey accordingly to address those gaps. It also empowers teachers with actionable reports, lesson plans, and a comprehensive dashboard to monitor student progress in different learning competencies.
Vice President of ConveGenius, Viprav Chaudhary, lauded India’s progress in education and emphasized the potential impact of this partnership, saying:
By combining EdTech and outcome-based funding, this program sets the stage for a data-driven education system where student progress is the top priority. The success of this endeavour is set to resonate across the entire EdTech industry, inspiring further adoption of pay-for-success models nationwide.
Specifically, the goal is for all participating students to achieve an additional two years of learning gain (YLG) compared to non-participating students during the two-year program. To ensure credibility and transparency, an independent third-party agency will conduct baseline, midline, and end-line evaluations to track and verify the learning gains. ConveGenius is taking the risk by only getting paid if they achieve the targeted learning outcome goal. This shows their strong belief in their PAL solution and its ability to make a real difference in the students’ lives.
Shri Nikhil Tikaram Funde, IAS 2014, District Magistrate of Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, expressed confidence in the program, highlighting the potential benefits for students and teachers. He emphasized that personalized and adaptive learning modalities would significantly improve learning outcomes in primary education. The outcome-based payment structure ensures accountability for the EdTech partner (ConveGenius) throughout the project.
To ensure seamless execution, ConveGenius has already set up 280 PAL Labs within eight weeks, equipped with cutting-edge PAL technology to support personalized learning journeys. Each student now has their profile on PAL tablets, and teachers have received extensive training to make the most of the CG PAL solution.
Rahul Garg, Assistant Vice President at ConveGenius, expressed the organization’s commitment to democratizing quality EdTech for all students (#SabkaEdTech). This program presents an opportunity not only for ConveGenius but for the entire EdTech industry to demonstrate the efficacy of EdTech in improving student learning outcomes.
