Polish startup Skriware enters the US market with unique educational solution.
Skriware, a 3D printing company focusing on innovative EdTech solutions, has announced that it is entering the US market with its online, educational course called “Destination: Mars”. Skriware’s ecosystem, which includes e-learning platform, robots and 3D printers, is designed to help students develop unique, and highly sought-after skills in the technology space. The company provides young explorers with hands-on experiences that encourage their interest in science, robotics, and creative thinking.
Geared towards nine to 16-year-olds, “Destination: Mars” introduces the cutting-edge concept of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) education through a playful and adventurous scenario. The course takes children on a 15-hour mission, during which they are introduced to robotics, as well as learn how algorithms and coding work. The course is supplemented by Mars trivia, various facts from science, physics and chemistry fields, and knowledge-testing quizzes, which all together inspire a student’s passion and curiosity for learning.
What is exceptional about Skriware’s platform is that children can design and 3D print their own, fully programmable robot – the Skribot. During the first mission, students are tasked with assembling the robot and connecting its electronics. From there, together with Skribot, they discover the secrets of the Red Planet, program Skribot to follow the line or avoid obstacles, use a gripper to carry objects around, or send an SOS signal with built-in fully programmable LED diodes. A ready-to-use block set is also available to order through Skriware’s website for those without the company’s 3D printer.
“Destination: Mars” brings the magic of programming and robotics to children as young as nine, allowing them to freely discover the world of science and learn interesting, often obscure facts about the Red Planet.” – said Karol Górnowicz – Skriware CEO.
3D printing hand in hand with STEAM education
Skriware is a Polish 3D printing startup that creates hands-on educational experiences for classrooms and beyond. Along with its “Destination: Mars” educational set, the company has created a series of products encompassing the full process of designing, building and programming robots. Individuals interested in developing their skills in those fields can gain access to Skribots Creator, an online prototyping tool, and order one of Skriware’s 3D printers, that together, provide a fully immersive play and learn experience.
Skriware’s educational platform was created in cooperation with Dartmouth College, The Astro Center at Texas A&M University and EdPlay. The solution is currently being tested by young students from all around the world, mostly through Skriware’s partners: Kids Code Fun, CoderDojo, IT for SHE and Perspektywy Foundation. The “Destination: Mars” educational set will be available in consumer sales in the coming several months To find out more, visit: www.skriware.com
