“It continues to be an exciting time for EdTech with continued innovation across the region. It has always been our pleasure to support the development of learning in this new era of education. Preparing students for the future, a holistic approach to developing key skills, augmented by technology
The conversation around EdTech continues to grow, but there are still gaps in the market that require innovation in the industry. According to the 2022 Evolution of EdTech: Activity in Private and Public Markets report, the $6.5 trillion global education industry is still in the early stages of digital transformation, with less than 4% of the market currently digitised.
Technology has offered unprecedented ways to transform the learning experience in tandem with increased demand for personalisation and empowering educators and institutions to embrace the enhancement of learning. Programmes like EduSpaze are providing the platforms and industry expertise to accelerate the maturation of the industry and continue to spur innovation.
“Students are being prepared for a world that would be unrecognisable by the time they grow up. It is thus important for them to develop a deep, transferrable skills and character traits across different disciplines. Yet, while this has become widely accepted, learning institutions continue to struggle with evidencing the whole-student. Without a systematic measure of these important traits, holistic education takes a backseat to traditional academic development. At HoloTracker, we push the needle by enabling allowing educators to substantiate holistic growth in their students. With EduSpaze, we find a partner that not only shares our vision for holistic education, but also a key catalyst in driving the next phase of our product, be it product enhancements or regional expansion,” shares Ng Aik Yang, CEO of Singapore-based HoloTracker.
Swati Gauba, CEO of Kidspreneurship, comments,
“We believe that every child has the potential to develop an entrepreneurial mindset. By joining EduSpaze’s accelerator program, we want to continue empowering and inspiring more students in the Southeast Asian community to gain the skills and confidence necessary to become future changemakers by leveraging their knowledge, expertise and ties to educational institutes in the region.”
Managed by seed capital firm and startup incubator Spaze Ventures and supported by Enterprise Singapore, EduSpaze’s accelerator programme has seen the success of past cohort participants such as Flying Cape, AkadAsia, Binar Academy, and ACKTEC Technologies. With the aim to nurture a vibrant EdTech startup ecosystem, the accelerator injects up to S$500K of funding as well as offers an environment for pilot project implementations in the region.
