Finnler Edulabs, a Delhi-based edtech startup has been declared as the winner of the Google Chrome App Challenge; along with two other start-ups from India.
The Google Chrome Educational App Challenge is a global competition designed for innovative startups that aim to solve big educational problems. The App challenge began by inviting the top startups from across the India to apply. Google received hundreds of applications out of which 5 made it to the finals. The teams of the shortlisted 5 startups were then invited by Google to present their app to the experts. Based on the assessors’ evaluation of value proposition, scope of the problem being addressed, technical merits of the app, and team potential, the final 3 winners were announced.
The winning startups got the opportunity to present their apps to Prof. Sugata Mitra. Also, they would receive mentorship & support for building an app further from Google & Read Alliance. Besides this, Google will feature the top three app on Chrome App Store.
“These are incredibly exciting times for us. Google has a history to promote innovation. So, it’s great to be recognized by them as one of the top developers in India that care about education. Moreover, getting our products in the hands of students of Read Alliance Initiative is greatly satisfying. We’re burning the midnight oil to release the app to the public in the coming few weeks.” – Smile Sikand, Co-founder, Finnler Edulabs.
