Crimson Education, a global admissions consulting and advisory company, has raised $23.8 million in a new funding round led by HEAL Partners.
The fresh funding takes the New Zealand-based education technology company’s total valuation to more than half a billion dollars ($622 million). With the funding, the company has also added former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to its advisory board.
With the latest funding, Crimson Education, which has built an education network designed to accelerate and prepare students for placement in universities such as Harvard and Oxford, plans to invest in its technology infrastructure and expedite growth in developing countries such as Turkey, India, and throughout the Middle East.
Crimson Education takes college admissions to a new level of personalization and success, increasing students’ chances of admission to the Ivy League, Oxbridge, and other top colleges and universities across the US, UK, and EU. The company believes that every student deserves individualized support in reaching their own personal educational and ultimate career goals.
Its college consultancy model ensures its students receive individualized support in every aspect of their application(s) – from planning, university selection, test prep, and personal statement/essay support, to extracurricular mentoring and interview practice.
The company claims that its applicants have received offers from Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, MIT, UPenn, Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, UC Berkeley, Duke, Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, LSE, King’s College London, the University of Edinburgh, and many other top colleges and universities in the US and UK, with many having as many as 10 or more offers to choose from.
Apart from admissions support, Crimson Education also offers online tutoring providing every student with a unique and connective learning experience on the Crimson App. The company has also recently launched its very own Crimson Community – an online platform that lets students build connections with future world leaders, change-makers, and talented students from all over the world.
Recently, Crimson Education also launched its operations in India, bringing its expertise in admissions consulting and its network of over 2,400 mentors and experts from across the globe, to help Indian students gain admission into premium institutes in the US, UK, Europe, and Canada. The company has its presence across 24 nations globally.
Prior to this round, Crimson Education had raised $5 million in August 2019 from Solborn Investment, the venture capital arm of Korean holding company Solborn Inc. That time, the company was valued at $245 million, up from $160 million when Tiger Global invested $30 million in 2016.
