To meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in cutting-edge technologies, Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) has partnered with the Tata Indian Institute of Skills (Tata IIS) to assist youth training in Industry 4.0 technologies, robotics, and automation. As part of Godrej Enterprises Group’s ongoing CSR skilling project – DISHA- this cooperation directly helps the Indian government’s goal of adding 100 million skilled workers to the Indian workforce by 2030.
Under this collaboration, Godrej Enterprises Group will support two key programmes at Tata IIS. The first is a comprehensive three-month Robotics and Automation course for 36 students. The second offers an extensive 100-hour Mechatronics and Automation programme for 100 students from six Premier Affiliated Technical (PAT) institutes in Mumbai.
Speaking about the development, Ashwini Deodeshmukh, Head of CSR & Sustainability Reporting, Godrej Enterprises Group, said:
Our goal is to equip youth—especially those from underserved backgrounds—with the skills they need to thrive in a technology-driven world. Robotics and automation are transforming industries; hands-on training in these areas can open new career pathways. Through this collaboration, we hope to make high-quality skilling more accessible and impactful, helping students build a future-ready skill set.
The programmes stand out for their holistic, industry-aligned framework that emphasizes practical learning and real-world application. They combine 70% practical exposure with a multi-sectoral and multi-skilling approach. Through application-based learning, students gain hands-on experience, preparing them for real-world challenges. This well-rounded approach ensures the development of essential 21st-century skills such as digital proficiency, professional communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.
The partnership was formalized through an MoU exchange that brought together key stakeholders from both organizations to discuss the future of skill development and the growing importance of robotics and automation in today’s industrial landscape.
This association is an important milestone in closing India’s talent gap. It provides participants with hands-on experience in robotics, automation, and other essential Industry 4.0 technologies while reaffirming Godrej Enterprises’ commitment to developing a sustainable, future-ready workforce.
