On the eve of Teacher Appreciation Day, Google announced the launch of a free and very useful app for the educators; the app is called “Classroom“.
Classroom is an easy and simple educational app designed to give teachers and students more time to teach and learn respectively. Using this app, teachers can:
- Create and organize assignments quickly
- Provide feedback efficiently
- Communicate with their classes with ease
Google always understands that student’s privacy is critical. Like other Google educational apps, this app also does not contain any advertisement nor Google use any content and student data for advertising purpose.
Classroom is free for schools as well. Now take a look how you can create and collect assignments, improve classroom communications and stay organized with the help of Classroom.
Create and collect assignments: Classroom interlaces Google Docs, Drive and Gmail together to help teachers to create and collect assignments from their students. Teachers can quickly check who has or hasn’t done with their work, and give direct, real-time feedback to every student individually.
Improve class communications: By using Classroom teachers can make announcements, ask questions and comment with students in real time. It helps them in improving communication inside and outside of the class.
Stay organized: Classroom automatically creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each student. Students can easily see what’s due on their Assignments page.
Benefits For Classes
Easy to set up
Teachers can add students directly or share a code with their class to join. It takes just minutes to set up.
Saves time
The simple, paperless assignment workflow allows teachers to create, review, and grade assignments quickly, all in one place.
Improves organization
Students can see all of their assignments on an assignments page, and all class materials are automatically filed into folders in Google Drive.
Enhances communication
Classroom allows teachers to send announcements and questions instantly. Since students can post to the stream, they can help out their classmates.
Affordable and secure
Like the rest of our Google Apps for Education services, Classroom contains no ads, never uses your content or student data for advertising purposes, and is free for schools.
Starting today, teachers and professors can apply for a preview of Classroom. Based on requests received, Google is inviting a limited number of educators to try Classroom in about a month. By September, Classroom will be available to any school using Google Apps for Education.
