Hyatt India, a leading global hospitality company guided by the mission of caring for people so they can be their best, is pleased to announce a collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and EHL Hospitality Business School to offer the prestigious Vocational Education and Training (VET) Swiss Professional Diploma programme across its properties in Delhi NCR and Lucknow. This strategic alliance combines Hyatt’s industry expertise, EHL’s academic quality, and CII’s networking significance to provide students with a world-class education and training opportunity.
The 18-month programme, which represents an important step in Hyatt’s commitment to fostering the growth and excellence of India’s hospitality industry, will be offered at Hyatt Regency Delhi, Andaz Delhi, Grand Hyatt Gurgaon, and Hyatt Regency Lucknow. The initiative, divided into three learning levels: Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced, is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the hospitality industry.
With a focus on practical training and industry-specific competencies, the programme will offer learning in three distinct streams: ‘Culinary,’ ‘Food & Beverage Service,’ and ‘Rooms.’ Each certificate level builds skills on top of the previous and culminates in a Professional Diploma.
Commenting on the partnership, Sunjae Sharma, Managing Director – India & Southwest Asia, Hyatt Hotels:
At a time when India is emerging as a global leader in the hospitality industry, there is significant growth potential for the youth of India who chose the VET by EHL programme, offered by the Confederation of Indian Industry. We are pleased to be part of this initiative and to contribute to training a new generation of hoteliers in collaboration with CII and EHL. The learning and training imparted at Hyatt will enable these young minds to stand out in this competitive sector and achieve their dreams.
Sharma added:
We are excited to launch the VET by EHL program today at multiple Hyatt Hotels across India. The program shall be delivered in coordination with the CII Institute of Hospitality; CII and EHL have established a long-term strategic partnership in India for the skilling of the youth for hospitality. This long-term partnership ensures the quality and sustainability of the programme.
Students who have successfully completed their higher secondary education with a minimum of 50% marks in English are eligible to apply for this programme. This eligibility criteria ensures that the programme attracts suitable candidates who are ready to engage with world-class educational resources and gain practical skills through hands-on training.
Executive Director of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Sougata Roy Choudhury, emphasized the unique features of the VET by EHL Swiss Professional Diploma initiative. He stated:
With the rapidly expanding hospitality industry in India and many other countries, skilled professionals are urgently required. Also, the youth’s interest in long-duration courses needs to grow. Hence, CII, as an Industry body, has stepped in to bridge this gap through the VET by EHL Swiss Professional Diploma initiative, which offers practical training by industry experts at renowned and luxurious Hyatt hotels. We ensure students are job-ready from day one, and upon completing this 18-month diploma, they secure placements in top hotels and restaurants worldwide.
Headquartered in Chicago, Hyatt is dedicated to empowering the next generation of hospitality leaders by providing a platform for students to acquire invaluable experience and skills.
