International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH), India’s first IT, renowned for its research-led education programmes and well-received Online Executive education programmes, is proud to announce the launch of an Online Master of Science in Information Technology (eMSIT) on Coursera, a globally recognized online learning platform. This eMSIT is the first master’s degree programme offered by an Indian university on Coursera, setting a new standard in online education. It’s a unique programme that integrates and recognizes industry micro-credentials, providing students with a flexible learning journey based on their prior knowledge and experience.
The curriculum features hands-on projects, specializations in data science, full stack development and machine learning, and exposure to AI tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot. Students will also have access to experienced teaching assistants and periodic sessions from experienced industry professionals for additional support.

The programme enables students to learn anytime, from anywhere. The application process is designed to attract learners of diverse backgrounds. Students need a four-year undergraduate (UG) degree with a STEM background or three years of undergraduate degree with at least one course in Mathematics of Computing plus one year of a postgraduate programme after UG to apply.
The Spring 2024 cohort is expected to begin on 22 July 2024. Applications are open now.

According to NASSCOM, the Indian IT industry is projected to require around 95 lakh tech professionals by 2026. Graduates of the eMSIT programme will be well-prepared for these high-demand computer science and IT jobs in industries such as finance, healthcare, and software development. They will have access to online job boards and networking opportunities with MSIT’s extensive base of 3,000 alumni, who are currently employed at top companies like Amazon, Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase & Co, and American Express. This programme opens doors to a promising career in the IT industry.
Coursera was launched in 2012 by two Stanford Computer Science professors, Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller, to provide universal access to world-class learning. The platform works with more than 300 prestigious universities and industry partners to offer a wide range of credentials and content, including courses, professional certificates, guided projects, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and specializations.
