Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur’s C3iHub has launched ‘Cyber Security Vocational Programme’ in collaboration with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) Kanpur and Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj Innovation Foundation (CSJMIF). According to the statement, the collaboration aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in cybersecurity.
The six-month programme seeks to equip students with the required skills and knowledge to excel in the ever-growing field of cybersecurity. This course covers system security, malware analysis, network security, cryptography, and IoT security. This is not just an online course but a practical learning experience. An integral part of the training is customized labs at every student’s desk through the Cyber Range. The statement added that this hands-on approach is designed to provide students with industry-relevant knowledge, preparing them for successful cybersecurity careers.
Prof Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, expressed his optimism about the partnership, stating:
The Cyber Security Vocational programme will help students develop a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity, expanding their knowledge to an advanced cybersecurity level and making them future-ready. We hope to provide a robust platform for students to learn practical knowledge and skills essential in today’s digital age by combining C3iHub’s experience and the resources of CSJMU and CSJMIF.
C3iHub will provide a Virtual Lab for course practicals, technical help desk support for students, course participation/completion certification, and final assessment results for all students. CSJMU will facilitate the programme’s execution, while CSJMIF will provide a platform to run it. This initiative aims to enrol 50,000 students, making it a significant initiative to foster cybersecurity expertise in India.
