Sambalpur University in Odisha and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) have agreed to collaborate on research and academic initiatives in key areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), cyber security, chip design, and green technologies. This partnership will also facilitate the exchange of students and faculty, academic and scholarly information, and materials and publications.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for partnership was recently inked at the IIT Madras campus in the presence of Prof. V Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, and Prof. Basant Kumar Mohanty, Director of Sambalpur University Institute of Information Technology (SUIIT), Sambalpur University.
This collaboration not only fosters the sponsorship of cooperative seminars, workshops, and other academic meetings but also promotes the exchange of knowledge and expertise. Faculty from both institutions will collaborate in the supervision of exchange students and in joint research in disciplines of mutual interest, thereby enriching the academic landscape.
Commenting on the collaboration, Prof V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said:
