Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE), a state-run organization, has launched a groundbreaking initiative to provide support and guidance to over 8,00,000 students from public schools as they prepare for various undergraduate entrance examinations. KITE, the technology arm of Kerala’s General Education Department, has introduced a programme titled ”Key to Entrance.” General Education Minister V. Sivankutty officially inaugurated the initiative.
According to an official statement, the initiative aims to strengthen the state’s dedication to expanding educational opportunities and offering support to students in the Science, Humanities, and Commerce streams. The dedicated portal for the initiative offers free login access to higher secondary and vocational higher secondary students of government and aided schools. This platform allows students to access various learning materials, including question papers, assignments, and mock tests.
The statement further added that these resources will be available after the daily live classes, which will start broadcasting on the KITE VICTERS channel from September 30, with simultaneous transmission on two PM eVidya channels allotted exclusively for Kerala. Students who miss the live sessions can watch them later on the KITE YouTube channel.
The programme will initially cover a comprehensive set of subjects, including Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, History, Political Science, Business Studies, English, and Geography, with plans to expand into additional subjects. Each class will provide self-assessment opportunities, enabling students to evaluate their progress and identify areas for improvement, the statement said, adding that continuous evaluation will be facilitated through online model examinations to ensure effective learning outcomes.
To ensure the seamless execution of the initiative, the Director of General Education (DGE) has directed all schools to provide the necessary technical resources for students. K Anvar Sadath, CEO of KITE, highlighted that this is Kerala’s most extensive public entrance exam training programme, serving nearly 8 lakh students.
He added, “We aim to replicate the success of last year’s Crack the Entrance crash course, which saw excellent participation and impressive results for students preparing for Medical and Engineering entrance exams.”
KITE is a government-owned company dedicated to supporting, encouraging, and implementing the modernization of educational institutions in Kerala that are either state-owned or administered with government aid. The organization aims to encompass information and communication technology, capacity building, content development, connection, e-learning, satellite-based education, support and maintenance mechanisms, e-governance, and other related activities. Its vision is to transform Kerala into a knowledge society by enhancing the quality of educational inputs through inclusive, sustainable, and technology-supported interventions. In April of this year, KITE announced the launch of its ”Crack the Entrance” programme, which aims to help students prepare for medical and engineering college entrance exams.
