LeapScholar, India’s biggest platform for study abroad aspirants, has joined hands with the University of Delaware, a research university in the United States (US). With this association, as part of Leap Advantage, LeapScholar aims to bring the University of Delaware’s Master of Science (MS) in Finance postgraduate programme to Indian students aspiring to earn a master’s degree from the US in a hybrid format and at a much lower cost.
The MS in Finance programme will be delivered to students online in the first semester in India and the remaining two semesters on-campus in Newark, Delaware. The hybrid format will reduce the programme’s overall cost by up to 30%, saving approximately Rs 15.60 lakh, depending on currency conversion rates. The requirement for GRE test scores has been waived as a part of the eligibility criteria for the programme.
Students who have completed a three-year undergraduate degree or a four-year engineering degree can apply for this programme. The programme has a STEM designation, enabling Indian students to apply for a three-year post-study work visa in the US upon graduation, similar to full-time international students.
Speaking on the collaboration, Co-founder of LeapScholar, Vaibhav Singh, said:
At LeapScholar, we are focused on democratizing international education, and our innovative partnership with the University of Delaware is an essential landmark in that journey. The prestigious MS in Finance program in a hybrid format will benefit Indian students and also help meet a growing demand for financial experts capable of practical, hands-on business problem-solving. We plan to add more hybrid programmes for Indian students in the coming days.
International students who graduate from this programme will be eligible for up to 36 months of OPT (Optional Practical Training). The Spring session starts on February 6, 2024, and applications are now open for Indian students. The last date to apply is November 15, 2023.
The University of Delaware aims to cultivate learning, develop knowledge, and foster the free exchange of ideas. State-assisted yet privately governed, the University has a strong tradition of distinguished scholarship, which is manifested in its research and creative activities, teaching, and service, in line with its commitment to increasing and disseminating scientific, humanistic, artistic, and social knowledge for the benefit of the larger society. It promotes an environment in which all people are inspired to learn and encourages intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, free inquiry, and respect for the views and values of an increasingly diverse population.
Terry Campbell, Associate Professor of Finance and Program Director of the MS in Finance programmes added:
We are pleased to partner with LeapScholar to bring the University of Delaware’s master of science in finance degree to students in India. The program is a STEM-designated degree designed to provide students with the quantitative and analytical skillset to succeed in the competitive Finance and financial data analytics world. International students who graduate from this program will be eligible for up to 36 months of OPT (Optional Practical Training).
Oliver Yao, Dean of UD’s Lerner College, commented:
