Littera Education, a leader in K-12 high-impact tutoring, has acquired Tutor Matching Service and GoBoard to help address the challenges of making tutoring services available to students in higher education and enhance the tutoring services it currently offers to K-12 schools and districts.
Tutor Matching Service (TMS) helps connect students to quality tutoring across a wide variety of subjects. It helps college and university students find the right tutor at the right price. TMS was created to promote student success with the core mission of increasing access to one-on-one education in higher education. Since its founding in 2008, the company has expanded its purpose to now be able to curate the best technology options for learning centers, tutors, and students, helping to enhance the tutoring experiences, in-person and online. TMS is an established partner in the learning center community, partnering with over 200 colleges and universities.
GoBoard, which was also developed by Tutor Matching Service, is a premier online tutoring platform that combines video conferencing with an interactive canvas, and embedded educational tools like the graphing calculator to create a highly-engaging online tutoring session. It is used by over 500 universities, tutoring companies, and individuals/tutors and students. In addition, with GoBoard’s patented text-to-board technology, students can text photos of handwritten work or textbook pages to a collaborative board for real-time markup.
Commenting on the acquisition, Justin Serrano, CEO & Co-founder of Littera Education, said in a statement,
“Every student deserves a great tutor, no matter where they are in their education. The acquisition of Tutor Matching Service and GoBoard will not only allow Littera to expand into higher education, but it will provide innovative, patented technologies we can share with our K-12 district and school partners.”
Littera customizes tutoring intervention for K-12 schools and districts by supporting any student, subject, schedule, or staffing model. The company partners with schools to design, deliver, monitor, and adjust virtual tutoring programs, following a continuous improvement cycle. With Littera’s Tutoring Management System, curriculum integrations, and virtual tutors, schools can reach every learner with individualized support.
According to a press statement, Littera plans to utilize the acquired assets, along with its Tutoring Management System, to increase access to high-impact tutoring and enhance virtual tutoring experiences in K-12 schools, colleges, and universities.
