Expertrons, an AI-based career counselling platform that helps graduates and professionals land their dream jobs, has raised $2.3 million in Pre-Series A funding from Venture Catalysts, Auxano Capital, Venture Garage, Yoga Capital, Ah! Ventures, Leads Angels, and Hyderabad Angels.
The funding round also saw participation from existing investors LetsVenture, IVS, Ivycap Ventures, and Nikhil Vora (MD, Sixth Sense), along with entrepreneurs like Bre Pettis (Co-founder of MakerBot) and founder of Early Salary.
The company said that it has reached operational profitability and will use part of its fundraise to invest in video bot technology and recommendation engine to help aspirants find the right experts suitable to land them an opportunity.
Expertrons provides futuristic communication, hiring, and placement solutions for businesses and educational institutions as well as EdTech and career guidance services for end consumers. Bringing career hacks and wisdom from top professionals and experts to students, graduates, and upcoming professionals, Expertrons bridges the gap between them using Video bots and by facilitating 1-1 consultations.
A video bot is a software program for simulating intelligent, intuitive, and interactive conversations with human users using artificial intelligence. Users interact with video bots via a conversational interface through written or spoken text.
Founded in 2019 by IIT Bombay alumni, Vivek Gupta and Jatin Solanki, the Mumbai-based startup offers flagship product Academy+ Job Assured Program which is a complete career transformation that aspirants can undergo to become the best version of their professional self and also get assured referrals and interviews until they get hired at the best company that suits their career needs.
Talking about the company, Co-founders of Expertrons Vivek Gupta and Jatin Solanki said,
“Professionals don’t want to click on ‘connect’ and wait or hope for someone to help them, or write an email and still wait for the right guidance. Neither do they want to read an anonymous career experience on Glassdoor, which may be from a different geography and not relevant to them. Video bots are the solution to the ever-growing digital dependence of the world and have applications in virtually every area of business. The demand is evident; we’ve been growing 50 percent m-o-m!.”
The company claims to have witnessed 70x growth over the last year. Globally, over a billion professionals look to switch their careers at least 5 to 7 times in their lifetime, and Expertrons aims to help them land their dream career through its expert and company network.
Venture Catalyst’s MD, Dr. Apoorva Ranjan Sharma, said about the company,
“We live in a world of personalization — where what we want to buy, eat or watch is recommended to us by our apps. Expertrons, being the Netflix for careers, recommend you the experts who are from a similar background and have already achieved your aspiring goals — who can handhold you to achieve the same.”
Expertrons said it has over 5,000 experts sharing their video bot career experiences to help land an opportunity with BCG, Google, Facebook, TCS, IIM, ISB, HBS, among others.
Vikram Gupta, Founder and Managing Partner at IvyCap, also commented saying,
“This team has seen supersonic growth since we last invested. Expertrons uses AI video bot technology for career guidance at a very large scale, a space that is more than ready for disruption.”
Within 14 months of incorporation, Expertrons claims to have impacted over 250,000 aspirants and reached operational profitability.
Expertrons had raised its seed round of $700,000 in April 2020 from LetsVenture, Ivycap Ventures, Iceland Venture Studios, and Nikhil Vora.
