Fring, a Netherlands-based freelancer recruitment platform, has recently announced its acquisition of FreelanceDev, an online job-searching portal for hiring IT professionals. However, the company did not disclose the financial details of the agreement.
Co-founded in 2020 by creative talent experts Edwin van de Bospoort and Stijn van Aert, Fring connects companies to pre-screened freelancers in IT operations, data science, product management, marketing, human resources management and consultancy, handling everything from job posting to matching. Operating a performance-based model, it charges a service fee of up to 7 per cent based on hours worked.
The company is on a mission to redefine the world of freelance recruitment and make it hassle-free. It is a game-changing platform that directly connects innovative companies with creative and digital freelance talent worldwide and makes creating the perfect team for exceptional projects and superior results easier.
Commenting on the acquisition, Founder of FreelanceDev, Bas Hennekam, said:
I want the FreelanceDev community to find work even more accessible and better. By merging with Fring, we make this possible for all developers in the Netherlands. Moreover, there will then be one strong freelance-friendly party that companies will do business with.
As a part of the transaction, Hennekam will remain involved with Fring. The Fring team will take over the platform’s daily operation and further development.
FreelanceDev, started in 2019 by Bas Hennekam, aims to create ‘radical transparency in the misty freelance brokerage market and find freelancer work more accessible and fairer’. The platform focuses on hiring IT talent in DevOps frontend, backend and app development, thereby enabling companies of all sizes to hire talented employees and offering opportunities to IT job seekers to get hired.
Adding about the deal, the Co-founder of Fring, Stijn van Aert, added:
The development community was already active on Fring and is now getting a big boost with a whole group of experienced development specialists. In addition to the digital, creative and marketing expertise at Fring, we are now bringing even more tech professionals into contact with our clients.
