Visma, a Norway-based B2B software supplier, in collaboration with Beeple, an online staff management tool, has recently announced that it has acquired Clevergig, a leading SaaS workforce management platform that encompasses all the services to manage a global and flexible workforce in transformation easily.
However, the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to Visma, with the acquisition of Clevergig by the company, Beeple can focus on this smaller segment of temporary employment and recruitment agencies but also expand into a new market segment and strengthen its growth ambition throughout the Benelux region.
Founded in 2016, CleverGig aims to help small-scale employment agencies connect temp workers and freelancers to ad-hoc assignments. The platform provides its software to companies in healthcare and education to organise their planning, time registration, and invoicing processes. Headquartered in Amsterdam, the startup has 150 customers and a team of 20.
Speaking about the acquisition, Founder & CEO of CleverGig, Michel Pilet, said:
What I like about Visma is that they say ‘integration kills innovation.’ We are not fully integrated with their other businesses. This takes a lot of time and energy and is often distracting. They allow their businesses to survive fairly independently. I think that is also positive for growth. We can keep going but with a strong party behind us.
Belgium-based Beeple provides larger recruitment companies with planning and communication tools to manage flexible shift schedules.
Post the deal, Clevergig will continue under the same name, logo, branding, and product development trajectory under its current leadership. The former management team, including Michel Pilet (CEO), Arnoud Visser (CCO), and Sergii Prykhodko (CTO), will remain with Clevergig until 2024. Pilet and Visser will focus on sales, while Beeple will assume full management responsibility.
Karel Rabaut, Managing Direct & Co-founder of Beeple, added:
The merger will allow Beeple to serve a new market segment and accelerate organic growth throughout the Benelux region. Moreover, we see a big match in the work culture between Beeple and Clevergig regarding the company culture and flexible and remote working methods. The sales and customer success teams will be integrated to exchange knowledge and provide optimal customer service.
