Outschool, a cutting-edge education platform, has unveiled Courses, a new offering tailored for homeschool and alternative education families. These Courses are not just classes, but a comprehensive educational experience. They empower families to design their own personalized education, with the guidance of expert teachers, a wide range of unique and engaging classes, flexible scheduling, and detailed progress tracking. The Courses are a testament to Outschool’s commitment to putting the unique educational needs of each learner first.
Over 1,000 parents across the United States were interviewed in a comprehensive survey conducted by Outschool in April 2024. The survey delved into their attitudes towards traditional education models and their growing interest in alternative forms of education like homeschooling, online education, and micro-schools. The results of the survey painted a clear picture of the evolving educational landscape post-pandemic, highlighting parents’ desire for personalized learning experiences for their children and their concerns about traditional public and private education.
Outschool’s Courses offer a unique approach to education, allowing families to create a customized learning journey that caters to their learner’s individual interests and needs. With the ability to hand-pick a team of expert educators, families can ensure their learner’s educational goals are met. The platform provides access to a course syllabus, standards alignment, progress tracking, and other features, making it easy for families to create their own ‘personal school experience’ that is tailored to their learner’s unique style and level of learning.
Amir Nathoo, CEO and Co-founder of Outschool, commented on the initiative:
Since Outschool’s inception, homeschooling families and those seeking non-traditional education for their kids have been our primary users. We know that these families have unique needs, from picking suitable classes to creating a well-rounded curriculum to ensuring their student’s academic progress to meeting the evolving educational needs of their learners. We also recognize that families choose this journey because the default path, the one-size-fits-all option, needs to offer their learners the education they deserve. We created Courses specifically to make pursuing homeschooling and alternative learning paths easier.
As the education landscape evolves, Outschool remains committed to empowering parents and students with diverse, flexible, and personalized learning opportunities. The courses range from one-time classes to ongoing social groups, one-on-one tutoring, week-long camps, and ongoing classes. Classes are offered across all subjects and for learners ages 3 to 18.
When Outschool was established in 2015, homeschoolers were the first to learn about its classes, but soon after, students in traditional schools started adding engaging, entertaining programmes to their curriculum. The platform became essential for families who wanted to keep their children learning, socializing, and pursuing their passions throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The company currently provides more than 140,000 live online classes to more than 1,000,000 learners in 183 countries worldwide.
