PowerSchool, the leading provider of cloud-based software for K-12 education in North America, has announced the acquisition of Allovue, the premier provider of K-12 financial planning, budgeting, and analytics software in the United States. The deal will help to expand PowerSchool’s financial management, analytics, and workflow capabilities, giving schools, districts, and state education leaders the most comprehensive suite of K-12 data and analytics tools available for accurately planning budgets and providing clear visibility for their communities into district spending and its impact on student outcomes.
By incorporating Allovue’s finance management tools into PowerSchool’s product suite, schools and districts will benefit from intuitive and flexible budgeting tools for allocating and managing budgets and resources, such as real-time access to all budgeting information, budget collaboration, equitable funding formulas, and spending analytics and dashboards.
Founded in 2013 by Jess Gartner, Allovue aims to assist schools in making better budget and expenditure decisions by providing dynamic, up-to-date, and user-friendly data. The platform works with districts and educational departments nationwide to budget, manage, and assess their expenditure. It enables workflow, analytics, and decision-making for more than $50 billion in K-12 education resources for millions of students.
Commenting on the deal, CEO of PowerSchool, Hardeep Gulati, said:
The acquisition of Allovue underscores our commitment to empowering education leaders as they navigate the complex landscape of education finance. Budget management, impact analytics, and transparency become even more critical in K-12 as federal stimulus funding winds down. Combining Allovue with PowerSchool’s existing suite of products provides improved capabilities for managing district finances with tools that are intuitive, flexible, easy to use, and integrate with existing systems.
With this acquisition, existing and future PowerSchool customers will benefit from comprehensive, system-agnostic analytics and unique cross-domain insights, resulting in a better understanding of how financing decisions impact measurable student outcomes.
