Rise In, an industry-leading education platform that transitions web2 engineers to web3, acquired BlockBeam, a US-based company, to its 200k+ talent community. BlockBeam is one of the first and largest web3-focused EdTech startups in the United States, thanks to its partnerships with 90+ university blockchain clubs, including Princeton Blockchain Club, Blockchain at Berkeley, and Harvard Blockchain.
With this acquisition, Rise In and its partners gain access to the world’s best colleges and universities and train the next generation of web3 developers in the United States.
Rise In introduces blockchain and web3 to the global workforce to become the #1 go-to place for anybody passionate about studying and producing web3. It offers free web3 education in collaboration with the world’s largest blockchain ecosystems. Launched by Turkish-founded Patika.dev in September 2023, the company has already onboarded 25,000+ people from 90+ countries to web3. The education programmes range from basic blockchain training to advanced chain-specific technical courses on Solidity, Rust, and Substrate development. All courses and bootcamps are free for developers because the web3 protocols that require these developers to join their chain provide the resources to execute the programmes. Rise In has collaborated with Solana, BNB Chain, Polkadot, Sui, Internet Computer, Ethereum Foundation, and more.
Speaking on the deal, Co-founder & CEO of Rise In, Gulcan Yayla, said:
We met with BlockBeam in 2022, experimenting with the best methods to train talent on blockchain and web3. We are passionate about providing developers a structured and easy-to-follow onboarding process, leading to a meaningful career. Seeing the same passion in the BlockBeam team and their close relationship with the university clubs helped us make the acquisition decision. This way, we’ll help our partners reach some of the best web3 talent in the world.
Rise In helps successful graduates integrate into developer grants, bounty programmes, hackathons, job opportunities, and venture-building support. The company intends to introduce an internship programme for college students, who account for 31% of bootcamp applicants.
Co-founder of BlockBeam, Drew Cousin, stated:
It was essential to us that an acquirer could not only carry the torch but increase the value BlockBeam created for talent and our partners. We are excited to see Rise In continue to generate opportunities for talent and companies and accelerate US expansion with our assets.
Through the acquisition, Rise In will add around 1,000 web3 developers from the US to the platform. Acquiring developers in the United States is more complex than in other countries like India. Rise In will also be able to access their existing university partnerships as part of the agreement. Rise In and BlockBeam hope to deliver the finest experience for every developer to learn and create a career in web3 by combining their strengths.
