ScholARlab, a pioneer in merging cutting-edge gaming technology with education, has announced the launch of a virtual lab product, ScholAR. With a thriving commercial debut in June 2021 and having supported over 100,000 students and educators last year, ScholARlab is taking a giant leap forward this academic year. Collaborating with strategic partners and distributors across India, Southeast Asia, the USA, and Middle East Asia, they are set to deploy ScholAR to cater to more than 750,000 users.
As part of this initiative, ScholAR encompasses a wide array of devices, including laptop browsers (Windows, Mac, and Chromebooks), android devices, as well as mixed reality (MR) and virtual reality (VR) devices. Offering an immersive learning experience, it aims to bridge the gap in Science education by targeting students and teachers in grades six to 12 (K12), enhancing their grasp of complex concepts through interactive 3D virtual labs.
Addressing a pressing need in the education landscape, the CEO of ScholARlab, Balaji Venkataraman, said:
Our mission is to revolutionize STEM education by making learning Science fun, interactive, and accessible to all. ScholAR transforms traditional experiments into captivating virtual experiences, empowering students to grasp scientific principles quickly.
The launch of ScholAR comes at a crucial juncture when the National Assessment Survey by the Ministry of Education highlights a deficiency in Science education outcomes in India’s K12 sector. ScholARlab seeks to address this challenge by offering comprehensive virtual labs adaptable to different curricula and geographical needs.
ScholARlab’s commitment to excellence is evident in the breadth of its content, which spans over 500 topics. Beyond its content richness, the platform is designed to go beyond the constraints of physical labs, enabling students to explore real-world scenarios and connect scientific concepts to practical applications.
Earlier this year, ScholARlab was selected by Meta (formerly Facebook) to participate in their highly exclusive XR Startup Program. Leveraging this collaboration, ScholARlab plans to harness the capabilities of Extended Reality (XR) to develop a collaborative virtual lab.
ScholARlab remains committed to its vision of transforming STEM education and catering to the needs of teachers and students worldwide. With their revolutionary virtual lab, the company is undoubtedly changing the landscape of science education and fostering a new generation of enthusiastic learners ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow. The startup secured funding from JITO and prominent angel investors during its first external funding round. Buoyed by its business expansion and achievements, the firm actively seeks more significant investments to enhance its offerings and impact further.
