Jackett, a Singapore-based education technology startup, has raised $1 million in seed funding led by Forge Ventures.
The round was also joined by other investors, including Entrepreneur First and Epic Angels Network, as well as angel investors such as Carousell co-founder Siu Rui Quek and OnLoop co-founder Projjal Ghatak.
The company plans to use the latest investment to build its operating system for personalized learning, making it available to more teachers and education institutions across emerging markets.
Launched in 2022 by Charlotte Trudgill and Rachiket Arya, Jackett offers an AI- and machine learning-enabled operating system to teachers for automating time-consuming tasks such as creating, grading and personalising assessments. The platform also uses smart analytics to provide a deeper understanding of students’ performance over time, helping teachers create personalized education plans.
Jackett is on a mission to empower teachers with the next generation of innovative tools, so teachers can spend more time doing what they love.
Speaking about the fundraise, Co-founder of Jackett, Charlotte Trugdill, said:
“Education has reached an inflection point where new technologies can help enhance the teaching process, reduce the administrative burden, and create a better and more personalised learning experience for students at scale.”
Trugdill further added:
“The funding will enable Jackett to continue building next-generation tools for teachers to do what they love and help unlock the potential of students.”
The startup listens to teachers to build and design a platform that unlocks efficiency for teachers and delivers quick insights about student performance. It helps teachers make formative assessments faster and more often, so they get the insights and information to differentiate their teaching on-demand, at any time.
Jackett claims teachers have used its services in India to create over 50,000 assessment questions for students that has helped them save an estimated 7,000 hours. Currently, the firm operates in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria, Uganda, and the Philippines.
