To encourage and support young women to pursue careers in science, every year, L’Oréal India runs this scholarship for promising but economically disadvantaged young women.
50 Scholarships worth INR 2.5 lakhs each to be awarded to deserving Class XII Science girl candidatesfrom across the country.
The For Young Women in Science Scholarship Programme in India is an extension of the international L’ORÉAL UNESCO FOR WOMEN IN SCIENCE partnership. L’Oréal India’sFor Young Women in Science Scholarship programme, with the support of the Indian National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO, has helped young women, passionate about science, to achieve their dreams and aspirations of pursuing a promising career in science. The programme has been created with the viewto promote the contribution of young women – from all over the world – in the field of science. By providing the financial assistance for an education in science, this scholarship enhances the need for Indianwomen to pursue scientific disciplines to address issues which will challenge India in the coming years.
“The number of women with careers in science in India is still very low. This programme has been designed to provide aid and encouragementto young women to choose a career in science. The programme is entering its 12th year and is growing every year to identify and acknowledge deserving candidates.
Eligibility for this scholarship
Girl students from the science stream who have passed class 12 this year with minimum 85% marks in PCM/PCB. Family annual income must be less than INR 4 lakh.

The Prizes & Rewards include total 50 scholarships with an individual award of Rs 2.5 lakh paid over 4 years.
This scholarship is open for study in any field of science: medicine, engineering, information technology, pharmacy, biotechnology, and other graduate courses pertaining to science (B.Sc).
