Tata Digital, a future-ready company that creates consumer-centric, high-engagement digital products, has launched its reskilling vertical, Tata NeuSkills, to help address the EdTech market’s upskilling gap.
As a part of the development, Tata NeuSkills aims to offer two bootcamp-based courses in data analytics and frontend development later this month, with more courses to follow. The new courses are said to be six months long and will require at least 15 hours per week from the learner. To become certified, a learner must complete a capstone project before being evaluated. The platform offers courses for an ‘introductory price’ of INR 60,000, excluding tax, though the website states that the course costs INR 1 Lakh + GST.
In addition to the long-term courses, Tata NeuSkills is also launching a short-term program for Google’s app-building software Flutter. This program aims to provide learners with the necessary skills to build a flutter mobile application.
According to the company’s statement, learners that complete the courses with at least 80% attendance and at least 80% marks scored on MCQs and HOCs will get a chance to be placed at one of Tata Group’s companies or partner companies, including BigBasket e-grocery, 1mg, and Cult.fit, TCS, Croma, Air Asia, Westside, Tata Cliq and others. Tata NeuSkills also claims that they can bag a 40% hike or more after being placed based on the learner’s performance. During the course, learners can intern at these companies for up to three months, allowing them to apply their newfound skills in a professional setting.
Tata NeuSkills’s mission is to prepare one to take on and solve the biggest challenges of the future and become the leader of tomorrow. The company believes acquiring new skills is a structured process requiring rigorous practices. With its courses, the platform aims to bring these to one’s doorstep and helps them excel not only in their job but also with long-term aspirations and careers.
Tata NeuSkills became the second EdTech play across the larger Tata Group with the digital classroom solution; before, it was Tata ClassEdge, conceptualized in 2011 to improve the effectiveness of education systems in India. With a highly energized team of multi-disciplinary specialists, Tata ClassEdge constantly innovates in pedagogy, technology and content to enhance learning experiences.
Tata NeuSkills differentiates itself from its competitors in the crowded market of upskilling startups by offering learners placement opportunities at Tata Group’s companies and partner companies. With the demand for digital skills rising, Tata NeuSkills and other EdTech startups are well-positioned to play a crucial role in shaping the post-pandemic world.
