As you know, today’s students are tech enthusiasts and spend hours a day using numerous technological devices. But many educational institutions are still forcing them to learn through textbooks even though there are numerous digital options available.
GatesFoundation.Org published an infographic which includes what teachers say about the effectiveness of various forms of educational materials. The following are the few important statistics taken from the infographic:
93% of educators agree that digital resources such as classroom technology and web-based programs help in their students’ academic achievement. 49% of them strongly agreed with the above fact.
91% of educators consider classroom magazines and books other than textbooks help in their students’ academic achievement, 38% strongly agreed to this fact.
Only 69% agree that traditional text books help students learn efficiently, only 12% of them strongly consider traditional textbooks as good resources.
Only 6% strongly agree to the engagement of students with the help of traditional textbooks.
95% agreed that digital resources such as classroom technology and web–based programs engage their students in learning.
91% consider classroom magazines and books other than textbooks as great tools to engage students.
