Tether, the largest company in the cryptocurrency industry, recently announced the launch of Tether Edu, a global education initiative dedicated to fostering accessibility of digital skills development while promoting self-development and self-realization. As Tether’s educational arm, Tether Edu will assume responsibility for coordinating the various global education programmes supported by the company.
Tether Edu, in partnership with industry pioneers and experts, will offer hybrid courses, tailored workshops, and masterclass programmes that won’t just encompass blockchain education but also various digital educational areas such as design, artificial intelligence, coding, and more. The platform will provide an innovative academic environment that identifies and implements the most recent trends and expertise in specific digital industries.
As part of this initiative, Tether Edu will cover global markets, focusing on emerging markets in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and Asia.
Commenting on the latest move, Chief Executive Officer of Tether, Paolo Ardoino, said:
Tether Edu represents a leap forward in our sustained commitment to drive digital education worldwide, particularly emphasizing empowering emerging markets. We firmly believe that financial tools, exemplified by USDt, are not merely instruments for transactions but catalysts capable of rewriting economic history. Education stands as the cornerstone of this journey, serving as a linchpin for fostering economic prosperity and sustainable development. Tether Edu aims to bridge knowledge gaps, empower individuals, and ignite economic growth by imparting essential digital skills. In our conviction, educational initiatives such as Tether Edu are not just enriching minds; they are architecting the foundations of economic empowerment and prosperity on a global scale.
The development follows Tether’s strategic investments and associations with significant companies such as Georgia’s Academy of Digital Industry and Thailand’s most important local exchange, Bitkub. These strategic initiatives aim to enhance access to educational resources while promoting awareness of stablecoins and blockchain technology in local communities.
Tether was founded by a group of Bitcoin enthusiasts and early adopters who are passionate about making fiat currencies more accessible digitally. In 2014, the startup introduced Tether.to, a blockchain-enabled platform aimed at challenging the conventional financial system with a more modern approach to money. As the first blockchain-enabled platform to facilitate the digital use of traditional currencies—a familiar, stable accounting unit, the platform has created a revolutionary building block that companies worldwide can use to offer democratized cross-border financial services.
